NMVLL family,

I’d like to welcome you all to the start of our next season!  Fall Ball kicks off this week and we are thrilled that we have as many Fall Ball players as we had in Spring Ball!  This is already shaping up to be a great season for North.  We had a fantastic Spring 2021 season as North brought home three banners in championship play!

  • Our North Majors Commodores captured the District 68 Tournament of Champions banner
  • Our North Juniors Outlaws brought home the District 68 All Star banner AND the Section 10 banner and made a great showing at State!

We also hosted the District 68 Little League All Stars tournament to rave reviews!

I’d like to thank everyone involved in those efforts and for making our short-notice Spring season a success – the players, parents, the Board, and all the volunteers who support North.  Nothing happens without our volunteers.  Speaking of volunteers, our 2022 Board of Directors is in place and already meeting to make this another memorable season and to continue the winning tradition at North.

I really do like to think of North as a family, and our reputation as one of the most welcoming leagues in the District is well-deserved.   People really feel at home at North and we want to continue our successful program where kids return year after year.

All signs point to this being our back-to-normal season and that means we will have a lot more going on, like a real Opening Day ceremony for Spring, our famous North Golf Tournament and Fundraiser and a lot of other fun activities.

As the new League President, I have laid out the following intentions for the league:

  1. Increase the level of participation so that more than just a few people are doing all the work
  2. Develop our younger players and connect them with our upper division players as buddies and mentors
  3. Create a strong foundation for the next 5 years as we grow the league by building our community

We will be asking more of our parents this year in regard to volunteering, whether as umpires, snack bar workers or as team parents.  Your participation makes North stronger!

Thank you again for the honor and responsibility of leading this amazing North family, and for your support and encouragement.  I look forward to seeing you on the fields and building our North family.

TO THE NORTH!

Hugh Lander

President
